Dutch Supercar Challenge to Support Britcar in 50+ Car Grid

Motorsport fans are in for a real treat this spring as the ever-popular Dutch Supercar Challenge makes its long-awaited return to the UK, joining forces with the Britcar Endurance Championship at Silverstone on Saturday, 3rd May. The two championships will share the legendary Grand Prix circuit in what promises to be a spectacular combined race featuring a grid of over 50 cars.

The Dutch Supercar Challenge has a strong history of racing in the UK and was eager to make a comeback in 2025. However, high circuit hire costs initially posed a significant hurdle. Fortunately, a collaborative effort between series organisers has brought the plan to life.

Claire Hedley, Managing Director of Britcar, explained how the partnership came about:
“Dick (van-Elk, Owner and Director of the Dutch Supercar Challenge) contacted us late last year looking for a support race slot at one of our meetings, preferably at Brands Hatch on the GP circuit or at Silverstone on the GP circuit. Unfortunately, there were no available dates this year for the Brands Grand Prix Circuit, but we managed to organise a great support package with the BRSCC at Silverstone for the 3rd May.

So for this race we will be having the Britcar Endurance Championship and a Dutch Supercar Challenge race on the same track at the same time which will be a 50+ grid which will be a phenomenal sight!!! The starts of each race will be staggered and the sight of all the cars lapping the circuit will be truly spectacular. We can’t wait to welcome Dick and his competitors back to the UK and we hope to reciprocate with a European trip in the future.”

The enthusiasm is shared by the Dutch side.
“After years of absence and a fair share of paperwork thanks to Brexit, we’re finally back at the legendary Silverstone with Britcar,” said Dick Van-Elk, Owner and Director of the Dutch Supercar Challenge. “A special moment to be racing on British soil again – challenging, but above all, fantastic to be here once more!”

Spectators can look forward to a diverse and thrilling race as the Dutch Supercar Challenge brings a wider range of vehicles, including GT3-spec cars that are typically outside Britcar’s eligibility. Although both championships will have staggered starts, all cars will share the same circuit space, ensuring an exciting 90 minutes of non-stop racing action.

Whether you’re trackside at Silverstone or tuning in via the BRSCC’s YouTube livestream, the combined spectacle of more than 50 high-performance machines roaring around the GP circuit is not to be missed.

Interested competitors with GT-style cars not normally eligible for Britcar are welcome to join the race through the Dutch Supercar Challenge.
